Sculptra®Aesthetic is a form of dermal filler used to replace facial volume loss.  It has been used for years on the therapeutic side of medicine for Aids patients who loose mass muscle volume due to their illness.  This product is unlike  standard gel fillers.  Sculptra®Aesthetic goes in as a liquid seed form and deep into the dermis to replace lost collagen, correcting shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds.  It provides a more refined appearance that can last up to 25 months or more.  It is soft, natural and is your own collagen.  By rebuilding the foundation that we all loose under the skin (padding), with Sculptra®Aesthetic, our fabric (skin) is smoother and drapes  over our bone structure  much better.   This product is NOT for use in the lips and around the eyes.

Dysport™ is used to treat moderate to severe expression lines by restricting the muscles used in making frown or facial expressions .   Dysport is the new competitor to Botox but not a new product.  Restylane wanted to provide an inhibitor in the American market, so they went over to Europe and purchased the rights to a product called Roloxin.  Dysport has been here in the USA since 2009.

Years of squinting, concentrating, or frowning can cause your skin to furrow and crease.  Smoking, straw use and pursing your lips also add to the muscle breakdown.  As time passes, your skin becomes less elastic and those moderate to severe frown lines remain - even when your muscles aren't contracting.  The forehead, crows feet, upper lip and lower jaw muscles respond very well to this type of treatment.  The first treatment usually softens the wrinkle lines and by the 2nd or 3rd treatment they smooth out and blend into the surface of the skin.  Dysport™ is NOT a filler that plumps the lines, it simply causes the muscle to not respond to expression commands.   The myth that you are not able to show expression when you use an inhibitor is just that.... a myth.  Used properly and correctly, it really softens the aging process but allows you to smile and look natural.  Your provider can customize the treatment to tailor fit your needs
